Week of Jan. 5 - 9, 2009
WELCOME BACK and a very blessed New Year is wished to everyone! I had a very joyful and restful holiday season and I hope that you also did. I am excited to see everyone back and am looking forward to a lot of fun learning opportunities as we discover the wonders of the world God made. We will spend the first two weeks of January learning about winter and the during the last two weeks we will explore space.
Look in your child's backpack..... January calendars and forms for the upcoming parent/teacher conferences went home in your child's backpacks on Monday. Please return the Parent/Teacher Conference form by this week Friday, Jan. 9.
Beary Good Reading Activity Please Last call for the reading coupons! Please bring your coupons in this week if your child has read more books over the holidays. Friday will be the last day for you to bring in the coupons!
Bible Time Our bible stories for the first two weeks of January will be about some brave people that God used to further His plan for His people. We will learn about Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, Daniel and Esther.
Jolly Phonics This week's Jolly Phonics sound will be the letter Ff sound as in feather and feet.
Look out for an Australian Story Book....Don't Dig So Deep Nicholas? Please enjoy reading this book with your child. It is being sent home with a piece of art work that your child made after listening to this story. Please keep your child's art work at home, but be sure to return the bag with the book to our classroom the next day.
Extra Clothes It would be helpful if each child had an extra pair of pants and underwear in their backpacks just in case it is needed. Please label your children's shoes, back packs etc.. Thanks for your cooperation with labelling your children's belongings. It is very helpful for us when we find items left behind to be able to know whose they are.
