School Philosophy

We, the staff at Brother Dutton Catholic School, in partnership with the parents and St. Jude's Parish, create a safe learning environment that meets students' spiritual, emotional, intellectual, physical and social needs.
We meet our students' spiritual and emotional needs by:
  • Creating an atmosphere of spiritual growth through prayer, worship, and shared faith experiences.
  • Providing a loving environment that is Christ-centered.
  • Developing a personal relationship with God through daily living of the Gospels.
Our students' intellectual and physical needs are met by:
  • Emphasizing knowledge and promoting mastery of grade-level appropriate content.
  • Promoting a Christian community that delights in diversity and embraces all God's children.
  • Developing well-rounded students through building healthier bodies, open minds and Christian spirits.
We serve our community, with the help of area parishes and agencies, by:
  • Empowering the children with the ability to address the challenges of an ever changing, complex society through Christian leadership.
  • Modeling the essential knowledge and necessary skills to become self-fulfilled, productive members of society.
  • Encouraging involvement in society through volunteerism.
