Women’s Retreat 2010 . . . February 20
It is with great joy and excitement that we announce that Glenna Salsbury will be our featured speaker again next year. We had soooo many ladies ask to have her as our speaker. Glenna is thrilled to speak on “God’s Glorious Grace” based on our theme verse from Ephesians 1:6 “So we praise God for the glorious grace that He has poured out on us who belong to His dear Son.” (New Living Translation).
Our Retreat Team is busy working on the plans for next year. We ask for your prayers as we prepare for a day of worship, praise, prayer, fellowship, meeting new and “old” friends, and, of course, good food.
Please visit our web page occasionally for updates and information. Our ticket sales will begin on December 1. We will be limiting our ticket sales to 450 this year. Cost will be $25/ticket. An online registration form will be posted in November.

Outing to Shipshewana
On October 7th the Women’s Retreat Committee, minus two precious members, took a countryside ride to the “heart of Amish country” towns of Middlebury and Shipshewana, Indiana. All of the girls had been there, except me. I had an opportunity once, twenty years ago, but found myself slightly and unexpectedly pregnant, and the thought of a three hour drive was more than my 36 year old pregnant stomach could bear. I was disappointed at the time, but on Wednesday I was reminded that all good things come to those who wait. God had a wonderful plan for me that included a beautiful daughter and an eventual trip to this awesome place with good friends.
The day was a bit gloomy, cool and windy but we used that as an excuse to eat more, because we were using all those calories in the cold!!! And eat we did! Breakfast buffet at the Das Dutchman Essenhaus, with its hearty breakfast food and flaky pastries, a freshly baked cinnamon and sugar pretzel for a much needed(??) snack, and low and behold, dinner at the Essenhaus in the evening. Hopefully gluttony is okay every once in a while!
As far as the retreat goes, we purchased the napkins for the dessert table – remember the dessert table? Well, with the chocolate fountain and all, napkin purchasing is an important task. And we were able to find the 450 plus napkins we needed at a great price. What a blessing to be in the process of counting and then realize God has provided all we need! We made a few other purchases too, at very good prices because of it being the end of the flea market season, but we don’t want to give away any of our surprises!
Know this… we are planning, preparing and praying that the day will delight you and give you opportunity for fellowship and spiritual growth as we consider God’s Glorious Grace.
