Seventh Grade History

The Seventh Grade has been studying the empires from the Sumer Civilization through the Roman Empire.  In the course of these studies we have discovered that God is setting the stage for the coming of Jesus.  We have been taking notes, working together as a class, and trying to piece all of this together.

Now, we are ready to put it in writing.  Your student will be bring home a rubric that will show the requirements for this paper.  We have not decided on a due date, but it will probably be the 1st week in November.  That seems like a long way off, but the time comes fast!

We will start this project Monday, October 19th.  Project is due November 19th.

Preparation for the Coming of Jesus

As we have studied Chapters 6, 7, and 8, we have discussed how God was using the Greek and Roman Empires to prepare the world for the coming of His Son. Your assignment is as follows:

Write a paper identifying as many of the things that helped the world to be ready for the coming of the Messiah as you can. As you identify them, include pictures of these things. Also include Bible verses that illustrate their influence on the people and the times. For example, the Romans had instituted the use of a census to collect taxes from their citizens. What event took place just before the birth of Jesus that involved a census and how were the taxes to be used? Your illustrations can be from the internet, cut out of magazines etc. or you can use your own artistic ability to illustrate the things you choose to discuss by drawing pictures.

The requirements are specifically listed below in the Rubric.
