Welcome John Calvin School in Chilliwack, B.C.
Though Canada Post has designated our area as "Chilliwack", our school is actually in the small hamlet of Yarrow, about 15 kilometres from Abbotsford to the west, 15 kilometres from Chilliwack to the east, and 6 kilometres south of Hwy. 1.
John Calvin School was originally established in 1970 to provide Reformed Christian education for the children of the Canadian Reformed Churches in the Abbotsford/Chilliwack area.
Students learn at different rates and in different ways, and some students have significant challenges in their learning. Therefore John Calvin School maintains an effective learning assistance and special education program.
Our school has grown to its current size of 176 students in grades K – 7. Students come from Dewdney, Abbotsford, Yarrow, Chilliwack and Agassiz. Our grade seven graduates usually attend Credo Christian High School in Langley.
The Reformed faith sets the tone in our school. Most of our students’ families worship in a Canadian Reformed Church. Several families worship in a United Reformed Church, Free Reformed Church or Protestant Reformed Church.
John Calvin School works closely together with several other Canadian Reformed Schools in the Fraser Valley: Credo Christian Elementary School in Langley, Credo Christian High School in Langley and William of Orange Christian School in Surrey.
