WELCOME TO CREDO CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL
Whether you are just beginning your studies at Credo for the first time or beginning another year at Credo Christian High School, we want to extend the school’s warmest welcome to you. Congratulations to our new Grade Eights on completing Elementary School and best wishes to each of you as you set out on your Secondary School education. We invite all new students to embrace the academic and extra curricular opportunities and trust that you will soon feel at home.
The purpose of the student handbook is to explain the school’s expectations to students and parents. The idea is not to burden students with a cumbersome set of expectations, but rather to share basic guidelines to allow Credo Christian High School to operate “decently and in good order.”
While it’s at school that we traditionally learn about History, Mathematics, Science, Technologies and all of the other subjects, it’s at a Christian school where we learn that these subjects are integrated. Here we learn that Biblical principles apply to all areas of learning.
The school biblical theme text for the year is Proverbs 4:23
Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.
In scripture, the word “heart” relates to the will and to the emotions, both of which are influenced by the intellect. A firm faith commitment molds our will, which in turn determines our emotions. As we embark on a new season of learning, may we as school community intellectually guard our hearts; may we diligently cultivate the fruits of the spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control—and so continue to be a well-spring of thanksgiving and praise to our faithful Saviour and Lord.
