Journeys 2010

Opportunities for Service and Discipleship

Are You On The Journey?

There are many reasons why we hope everyone in the church will choose to participate in Journeys. The first reason is that we want to present each person in the church with service opportunities that enable them to follow Christ in their own unique way. This includes YOU! The second reason is that the more people that volunteer, the more ministry the church will be able to accomplish. The potential to build God’s kin-dom through OUR church is boundless. The third reason is that when more people participate in Journeys, we get a clearer picture of the interests and direction of the WHOLE church. In other words, Journeys can be prophetic, but only if people participate.

When to submit your Journeys Form? All of the collected Journeys Forms will be celebrated on Consecration Sunday, November 8, 2009. The Journeys Form can be submitted at anytime, but please try to return the form on or before Nov. 8.

How To Use This Website

STEP 1 - Review and discern your own spiritual gifts using the tools mentioned in the spiritual gifts section. If you feel comfortable with your spiritual gifts, move on to step 2.

STEP 2 - Review the opportunities to serve God in and through this faith community.

STEP 3 - Prayerfully discern areas of interest that match your spiritual gifts, abilities, and other areas that will challenge your growth as a disciple of Christ.

If you would like to learn more about how to use your spiritual gifts, and equip yourself to serve in any capacity, check out the books Equipped For Every Good Work by Dan Dick and Barbara Miller, and FaithQuest by Dan Dick (both can be found in the church library).

Three Levels of Commitment to Choose From

Interested in Serving - You are intrigued by this opportunity for service, but have yet to commit.

Willing to Serve - You have made up your mind and like to serve in this capacity.

Continue to Serve - You wish to continue to serve in this capacity.

Still Have Questions?

Key to Codes

Some of the Journeys opportunities are coded with these options

Kid and Family Friendly (FAM)

We value participation of children and families in all of our activities, but for specific recommendations look for the code "FAM".

New Ministry Team (NEW)

The code "NEW" represent ministries that have been discerned as fulfilling an important need in the congregation, and some represent inactive teams that could be restarted.

Leadership Needed (LEAD)

The code "LEAD" represents a team or position that is currently in need of a leader or will need one for 2010. If you feel called to leadership in one of these areas, be sure to note that on your interest form.
