Venture in Faith |
The CUMC-WF Capital Campaign is under way. The past, the present, and the future of our building and our church family have been studied. We are planning to improve our facilities to meet present needs and to better serve our future needs.
The slogan "Venture in Faith" well describes our project. We are going down a new path--a venture--with our destination in mind. That destination is a safe, usable welcoming building, accessible to all. We have faith that a better building will allow us to do God's work more effectively.
Most of our church family no longer live with shag rugs, avocado appliances or 13" black and white TVs. Our parking lot is filled with newer cars. Our homes have safe electrical wiring and are as energy efficient as we can make them. We replace old equipment on as-needed basis. We prioritize our "needs" and our "wants" on the basis of our bank balance. Just as we would in working with our "wants" and our own checkbook, our architects have scaled down the first plan (our "wants") to a more attainable financial goal which will still pay for our needs in the near future.
The logo we chose was designed by CUMC member, Deb Satterfield. It depicts the path we take as a venture of faith, The path is not a straight line and neither is the path we take in any activity we undertake, be it a personal activity or a church related activity.
Each day we awake to our own venture in faith. We don't know what that day will bring, the opportunities we'll have or the challenges we'll meet. We know that with our faith helps us meet the challenges we'll face.
