Christian Schools International
The Delavan Christian School is a member of Christian Schools International (CSI). It has a membership of over 450 Christian schools in North America. Its purpose is:
- to promote the establishment of Christian schools.
- to provide a medium for a united witness regarding the role of Christian schools in a contemporary society.
- to assist its members to function more effectively in areas of promotion, organization, administration and curriculum.
- to administer appropriate programs for the economic well-being of member Christian school personnel.
- to prepare, publish and distribute instructional, promotional and other materials, including periodicals for membership use.
Wisconsin Christian Schools
Wisconsin CSI schools hold a traditionl friendship with each other that is maintained through a variety of inter-school events. They are Delavan, Milwaukee, Oostburg, Racine, Randolph, Sheboygan, Sheboygan County Christian High School (Sheboygan), and Central Wisconsin Christian School (Waupun).
District 4 Teacher Inservice
Each year in March, teachers of the Wisconsin CSI schools come together at one of the member schools for a day-long inservice meeting.
Principal's Club
Wisconsin CSI principals meet three times each year. Under the direction of the principals and teachers, they sposor several district-wide student activities including:
A Speech and Spelling Contest
is held early in November. The event rotates among the Delavan, Racine and Randolph schools and is open to students in 5-8th grades.
A Writing Contest
in which materials are turned in on the third week-end of February for judging. It is also open to students in 5-8th grades. This activity is currently coordinated by DCS staff.
The Basketball Tournament
is held the third Friday and Saturday each February for girl's and boy's basketball teams. This event alternates between the Oostburg-Sheboygan and Randolph-Waupun schools.
The Spring Music Festival
held in April or May, includes the judging of vocal, piano and instrumental solos and groups of students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades. Individual school choirs and bands are adjudicated in the afternoon and a mass band and choir concert is held in the evening. This day-long event is held at Elmbrook Church in Brookfield, WI.
