Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. John 1:12

First and Second Grade afternoon teacher and Resource Teacher

This year I will be teaching first and second grade in the afternoon.  The subjects I will have with them are:  Bible, Math, Social Studies, Physical education, and Computers.   I will also be doing the resource for K - 8.

I

This is my 22nd year of teaching at DCS.  I have taught preschool, third and fourth, and first and second grades here over the years.  I also taught second grade in the morning and seventh and eighth grade in the afternoon for one year in Pease, MN while my husband was attending college.  I received my teaching degree from Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa.  I live in Delavan with my husband Brent.  We have three children.   Alesha is a senior at Judson University and was married last December,  Joshua is a Junior at Trinity Christian College, and Kara is a Senior at Faith Christian School.   I enjoy teaching kids and spending time with my family.

Here's what we are learning in the afternoons!

Bible:  Our Bible class will begin with the story of God's creation and continue through the Old Testament.

Math: We will begin with the numbers and their patterns.

Social Studies: We will begin with the amazing way God has created us.

Physical Education:  This year we will have gym class on Mondays and Thursdays.  Please be sure your child dresses appropriately for exercise (good shoes too) on these days.

Computer:  Our Tuesdays computer classes will be spent working on our Accelerated Reader Program and introducing the students to some of our computer programs.

Library:  Each Friday we also visit our school library and the students have a chance to check out books for one or two weeks.
