Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. John 1:12

I have been teaching at DCS since 2004. I have been blessed to be able to teach subjects that are interesting to myself. I love the challenges of teaching mathematics to students in the fifth-eighth grade range. A common question that I hear from students is "When will I ever use this?" Sometimes I have a concrete answer to that question, but not always. I have learned that God has given us the ability to understand difficult concepts. Not every adult uses square roots every day in their life, but the Lord has given us the ability to comprehend square roots, so we owe it to Him to learn these ideas. At DCS the math series can be difficult, but it prepares our children for high school and it gets the kids thinking deeper than some other textbooks. My favorite part of teaching at DCS is the interaction with the students. There is so much growth seen in the students from entering in fifth grade to exiting after eighth grade. I am looking forward to another great year.
