SESSION # 2 11:00 – 12:00noon
JOURNEY CLASS – Room 201
Teachers: Steve Davis and Bonnie Berry
Do you want your life to reflect more of the character of Christ? Is there a stirring in your heart for the deeper things of God? The main focus of this class is to promote spiritual formation and discipleship by reviewing books and additional study media that explore various aspects of a life in God. The emphasis is not on information, but transformation, which is the process of being conformed to the image of Christ for the sake of others. In the book study, Experiencing the SPIRIT, by Henry and Melvin Blackaby, the class will explore the foundational truths about the gift and the work of the Holy Spirit in a believer's life.
LIVING ON THE EDGE – Room 202
Leaders: Babs and Glenn Dobbs, Heather and Mike Dapkus
The seven deadly sins are pride, greed, envy, anger, lust, gluttony and sloth. Although the seven deadly sins were originally a medieval convention, contemporary culture still finds each sin attractive. Using, The Workbook on the Seven Deadly Sins, by: Maxie Dunnam, this leader directed discussion class will explore how these seven sins are present in our personal lives and how we might deal with them. This is a friendly class with a love for the Lord and “living life on the edge”.
GOOD NEWS – Room 203/204
Leaders: David Hill, Jim Tucker, Vic Macias
Join the Good News class during the 11:00 Sunday School hour for a study of the Gospel of Mark. Mark is the shortest of the Gospels, was probably written before the others, and probably served as an important source for the other Gospels. This study will focus on Jesus as a powerful, courageous, and trusting Savior. The Gospel of Mark is a testament to our Savior as proclaimer of the Kingdom of God as well as the embodiment of the Kingdom. We will learn who Jesus is, the true nature of discipleship, and proclamation of the Kingdom of God. The Good News class is a Bible-focused class that uses the Bible, various commentaries, and other materials to enliven discussion of God's Word and its application in our lives today. This is a 16 week study that will end in early January
