First Presbyterian Church seeks to be a place where all people can be touched by God, regardless of their abilities or situation. The Special Needs Ministry seeks to empower people with special needs to successfully participate as valued members of Sunday School and Worship while learning with peers, sharing social skills, providing awareness of others, gaining knowledge, and experiencing the love of Jesus Christ.

The Special Needs Ministry Provides:

• A place for families to worship and to grow spiritually within a church body.
• An opportunity for those with special needs to learn and love Jesus Christ.
• Support for both children and adults with special needs who desire to participate in Sunday school and Worship.
• Trained church volunteers for persons who need individualized support during Sunday school.
• Support for Sunday School teachers to better educate them on strategies to use with children with special needs.
• Church volunteers to join adults with special needs during Worship.
