Of Every Ten Men

  • 9 will have children who leave the church
  • 8 will have jobs they don’t find satisfying
  • 6 will pay the monthly minimum on their credit cards
  • 4 will get divorced
  • 1 will have a biblical worldview

What is the problem?
The problem is our independence from God. The problem is sin.

What is the solution?
The solution lies in discipleship – becoming more fully dependent on Christ.

Discipleship is NOT behavior modification.
Discipleship is LIFE transformation.

Men's Ministry

Men's Texas Hold 'Em Card Game - April27

$10 gets you in the game!  Winner takes nothing but a few measly trinkets as the entrance fees will all go to charity.  Please contact Scott McLain at smclain71@comcast.net or 404-472-5179 if you plan to attend.  This will help with food planning.

Band of Brothers

How do men become disciples?

Worship – Disciples worship God consistently.  Our pastors are called “to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.”  (Ephesians 4:12)

Study – “Jesus replied, ‘Your mistake is that you don’t know the Scriptures, and you don’t know the power of God’” (Matthew 22:29).  Adult Sunday School, Wednesday Night Classes, private study, and Small Groups are all great ways to learn to be more like Christ.

Wednesday Night Men’s Bible Study – Wednesdays, 7pm, Room 206
Info: Scott McLain (404-472-5179)
Christian Leadership Concepts – Mondays, 6am
Info: Joe Cheak (770-861-1813)

Christian Literature - “See that in every family there are some useful moving books, besides the Bible.” - Richard Baxter Some books we recommend and use:

  • The Man in the Mirror by Pat Morley - available free at the Welcome Center in the church lobby.
  • Wild at Heart by John Eldredge - available in the church library
  • Disciplines of a Godly Man by R. Kent Hughes - available in the church library

Retreats & Seminars – Position yourself for God to move you.  Band of Brothers holds a periodic Men’s Retreat.  Contact Scott McLain (404-472-5179), Joe Cheak (770-861-1813) or the church office for more information.

Service

Homeless Shelter Dinners - The FPC Band of Brothers have cooked and served dinner for homeless shelters and served in soup kitchens.  If you missed these opportunity to serve but would like to be part of this in the future, contact Scott McLain at 404-472-5179.

Handyman Ministry - Designed to help folks in the church and in the community who need assistance with minor repairs around the house, this ministry needs to hear from you if you have a skill with which you are willing to serve.  Call the church office at 770-942-0710 if you are willing to help.
