James Harper is the senior pastor of the church. He came to the position in June of 2009 from serving in his hometown as executive pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Houston. James has served on the staff of churches in Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, Houston, and California. He was one of the few candidates for the church who could continue the tradition that the senior pastor have three daughters. Every installed pastor in the church's history has had three daughters. James and his wife Magan love and enjoy their girls: Madeline, Isabella, and Natalie. James' job at the church is to lead, teach, and keep the church focused on its vision. Outside of ministry, James loves hunting, fishing, Mexican food, and baseball. He'll root for the Braves as long as they aren't playing the Astros.
