2. How much is the proposed budget for the new church building?
$7, 888, 700. 00
3. How are funds being raised?
A Capital Campaign Team was set up in February 2008 to start a campaign and ask the congregation to pledge money to help raise the funds. $3,300,000.00 has been raised as of November 2008, with another $1,000,000.00 pledged over the next 2 years.
4. What is needed to get to lock-up stage? How much money is being loaned?
Our funding strategies and bank financing requirements have compelled us to move beyond a formal lock-up stage to what we see is near substantial completion especially as far as the exterior is concerned. The congregation is truly blessed with a number of individuals who have stepped up to secure the monies needing to be paid out now to get us to that substantial completion (exterior) and to obtain the bank committed funds and allow for further pledges and pledging to be accomplished. Once we have arrived at this stage, the goal is for these latest securities to be refunded/paid back from mortgage proceeds.
A loan, which was approved by the congregation in November 2008, from BMO for $1.25 million, will be granted once the exterior walls are up and we are at lock-up stage.
5. Is there any provision for construction cost increase?
There have been cost increases and higher than budgeted items. There have also been blessings in extra contributions and free fill materials that have helped tremendously. In light of all this, we are confident that God will provide as always and as required the necessary funding/pledges/volunteer help needed going forward to the completion of this, His project. We need only reflect on what has been accomplished already in a relatively short period of time amongst a relatively small group of His people to see how this has been achieved.
6. What is needed for completion?
Two million plus dollars. We have 3.3 in, 1.2 pledged, and 1.25 in mortgage approvals now. That totals 5.75 million, and leaves 3 million dollars yet to be raised. Short term, the 1.2 pledged cannot be spent now, the mortgage dollars will not be forwarded until substantial completion, so we do have very immediate needs for funds to keep building. Once we are exterior complete, we will move into that phase of interior construction where much can be done with volunteer help as was the case when we renovated the existing structure to house our worship and various support ministries before moving from McCallum Road. This will hopefully offset increases/overruns and keep us to budget.
7. How can I help?
You can help by praying for the project and the team members. You can pledge money, or give money on a monthly basis. Or you can help by volunteering your time. See the office for a volunteer form and see where you can fit in!
