Our Mission
Our Mission is to know Christ and make Him known.

Mission statements are great, but they do not really help unless we know what it looks like to live out our mission. At MPC that means:

1. Living in communion with God.
We want to help you grow in your relationship with God. Lots of people can recite facts about God; we want to help you to know him personally and know him better. Jesus said, "Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." (John 17:3)

2. Living in community with others.

There is a lot more to church than "going to church." Being a part of the church is being part of the family. We want to help you experience the love, the joy, the caring, and the support that comes from living in community. The Scriptures describe this community in places like Romans 12:10: "Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves."

3. Growing in Christ-like character.

We're not perfect at MPC, but we're working at growing the character of Jesus Christ in our lives, a character that is summed up well in the Bible: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law." (Galatians 5:22-23)

4.
Living out your call.

We believe that God calls all followers of Jesus, not just the pastoral leaders. We want to help you hear that call of God and discover the ride of your life as you live out his call for you. "All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God." (2 Corinthians 5:18-20)

Memorial Presbyterian Church is a wonderfully diverse family. We are a multi-generational, multi-racial, multi-ethnic, multi-diverse family of faith with one mission, to know Christ and to make him known. We want to live out Jesus great commandment to love God and love people. And we want to respond to Jesus? great commission to take the good news of forgiveness of sins to our friends, relatives, work associates and neighbors that they might know the heart satisfaction that comes from being on good terms with God.
