Great Commission (Missions) - 5 Track Approach to Missions

Harvest offers a Five Track approach for Missions that will allow each and every member of our body to be actively engaged in missions.

Track One: Short Term Missions Trips These trips will be the missions events Harvesters are most familiar with, for we have been sending individuals and families to these events for years. This Missions team will actively seek opportunities and present these options to folks who have a stated preference for these types of outreaches.

Track Two: Short Term Missions Trips With no Heavy Lifting! A close relation to the short term missions we are familiar with, these opportunities will present Harvesters teaching opportunities nationally and abroad. They present exciting opportunities to build meaningful and lasting relationships for those who enlist in this ministry.

Track Three: Weekend Warriors Despite our best intentions, there are circumstances that prevent us from even the shortest of short term missions. These weekend tracks allows those in our body of believers to enjoy the taste of ministry despite schedules, physical restrictions, or resources.

Track Four: Workplace Outreach There are many among us who are already in the missions field in the truest sense of the word. It's called the workplace. We propose that these folks are acknowledged, equipped, and supported in active evangelism in the workplace. This means education in the latest ministry techniques, interpersonal skills, workplace laws, and other such training. These folks may also serve as a resource. Imagine stepping inside the mind of an unchurched, unsaved, typical, secular person in our community/job. What are their impressions of Jesus Christ? What might we do to knock down some of the misconceptions and obstacles people have toward Him? What kinds of things could be done to help our non-Christian peers become interested in the message, hope, and good news in Christ? ...This is the mind of the Workplace Outreach Team.

Track Five: Senders The Lord has blessed some of us with gifts that can improve our outreach exponentially. In Harvest we organize and tap into this precious resource. In many respects, this will is the most difficult of the tracks, but has the greatest potential for service.

These folks include:

Active Prayer Warriors Those who do not wait for prayer request to come their way, but they go out and solicit prayer requests of Long and Short-term missionaries.

Financial Support Individuals blessed by our Lord with stewardship of His resources. This team has developed a "Left Hand" Ministry - Where the "Right Hand" will not know the works of this group. This team also provides additional resources that our short term folks can tap into to send them into the field.

Missionary Support This team organizes church wide card and letter campaigns, and support to home side relatives of our Harvest missionaries.
