Who We Are |
A Story.. The Bible tells of a time David was weak and discouraged, and his friend Jonathan "helped... him find strength in God" (1 Samuel 23:16). That story points to what we're about at LBCRC.
Our Need... We are convinced that we need to find strength in God. Alternative sources don't deliver. We need the strength that comes from knowing God loves us and will enable us to become people whose lives shine with love, joy, peace, and hope.
Our God... Because he is great and good, God is able to give us the life-transforming help we need. He does this through His Son, Jesus Christ. We receive God's help by trusting in Jesus as our forgiver and leader, and in this way are included in God's family, the church.
Our Purpose... Our aim at LBCRC is to make new and better followers of Jesus - for God's glory! Or, to use the words of the Bible story mentioned above, to help each other and others find strength in God.
Our Roots... We are affiliated with the Christian Reformed Church in North America, a family of churches in the U.S. and Canada. Our roots are in the Protestant branch of the historic Christian Church which has existed for thousands of years and today spans the globe. The Bible is our guide for belief and living. We aim to be "re-formed" according to God's Word, and by the power of God's Spirit.
