Journey In Faith…
Term 2 Electives begin on October 25, 2009!
Life in the Faith Community
Through presentation and conversation, class members will build relationships with one another as they consider questions such as:
· What is the church?
· Who are Presbyterians?
· What is the purpose and vision of MPC?
· Is there a place for me to belong and serve at MPC?
The class is designed for people new to the church or MPC, as well as for those who wish to learn more about what it means to be a part of the church. Pastor John Leggett will lead this elective which will meet in the Gathering Area, Main Level.
Listening to Your Teen
This 6 week study provides opportunities for us to help each other move faithfully through the “exuberant” years of adolescence with our children and grandchildren. A team of leaders will facilitate discussion of a different topic each week. Topics have been chosen for this first parenting elective, however, should areas of common interest and need arise during our discussions, we will make adjustments to try to meet those needs. The location for this group is Room 114, Lower Level.
Life of the Beloved: Spiritual Living in a Secular World
This 6 week session takes a look at a book of the same title by the late Henri Nouwen, priest and author, respected professor and beloved pastor wrote over 40 books on the spiritual life. Come take a look at what it means for each of us to be God’s Beloved as Nouwen guides us using the words from our communion liturgy: taken, blessed, broken and given. Pastor Ann Pettit leads this discussion-based class in Room 117, Lower Level (the Parlor).
Additional Study Option for Adults
Covenant Class is an ongoing class for adults and continues to meet in Room 119, Lower Level. This class is designed and led by Dick Miller.
