Church Nursery

Nursery/Noah's Chapel Information

We currently have many children at Matthews Presbyterian Church between the ages of 0 to 5 years who would love to have your child join them. A nursery is available from 8:15 until 12:00 to care for infants through two year olds. Noah's Chapel is also available during that time for children ages two through kindergarten. We have two paid nursery staff persons with volunteer assistance. Our church members rotate in Noah's Chapel and in the nursery. Our children are invited to attend worship with their parents and can be escorted by an elder to the Noah's Chapel rooms following the children's message

*Children remain in the same room for the "school" year. All children move up to the next aged classroom or notebook at the beginning of the traditional school year. Children are currently grouped according to their KINDERGARTEN year. Children will remain in the same sign-in notebook until the next "school" year. Please do not move your child to another notebook after his/her birthday.

Matthews Presbyterian Church has an illness policy that requests that a child stay home if he/she has had a fever within 24 hours, has discolored nasal discharge, has loose stools or is just feeling poorly and needs extra TLC.

Nursery/Noah's Chapel Procedures

Our goal is to provide a safe, loving and nurturing place for your children to visit on Sunday Mornings. We have a sign-in system at the Nursery table that includes pre-printed name tags and MPC pick-up tags for all members. Parents give the MPC tags to the caregivers when picking up their child. Visitors are given visitor tags which have a number and are used in the same way to pick up their child. Visitors are encouraged to ask another parent or an elder for assistance

Because of food allergies, no snacks or drinks are given during the worship services in the care rooms. Please do not send any snacks or drinks (other than bottles) with your child. Many parents offer their child a snack or drink before arriving at church. If your child is in a care room during Sunday School and is old enough, a snack of Goldfish crackers and water will be provided.

If you have any questions about the Nursery/Noah's Chapel procedures, would like to volunteer in the care rooms (members only) or have suggestions, please call Debbie Dixon, Director of Christian Education at 704-847-4094.
