Greetings from Northwest Iowa! That's what I used to say in my Christmas letters, but now I officially call myself a true Pella person! My husband, Jon, and I have been here for over three years now and are settled in our house, and we feel like we know people who are not related to Jon!
Jon is an original Pella boy attending Pella Christian Schools. As for me, I grew up in Northwest Iowa, in small town Sanborn. I attended Sanborn Christian and Western Christian. After attending Dordt College, I taught grades 6-7-8 at Ocheyedan Christian School for 2 years. Now I teach 7th grade part time. I also coach cross country and girls track at Pella Christian High.
Jon and I were married July 27 after I graduated, so last spring we celebrated our fifth anniversary with a trip to Australia! Pictures are below if you want to check them out. In our spare time , we enjoy spending time with our son - just born on December 10, spending time with family (we have 3 nephews here in Pella), riding motorcycle, playing any variety of sports when we get a chance, and just being outside enjoying God's creation!
I truly enjoy teaching at PCGS - it's such a blessing to belong to such a strong Christian community... and middle schoolers are a great age to teach! It's so much fun to get to know each student and see the uniqueness God has created in each one of them! I covet all the prayers throughout the school year... and know that I am praying for each one of my students and their families throughout the year.
My favorite Bible passage is Isaiah 40:31, "but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
