History	The 8th grade class recently began a study of Government.  This week we will work on the Executive Branch.  The students will research a particular President and fill in a worksheet on him.
Science	Current events are on Friday. We will begin work on match bridges.

History	Daily geography is handed out on Monday.  .  During this unit we will study the Middle Ages.  The students will be doing a project instead of a test for Chapter 9.
Bible	Our new Bible unit is The Journey to Canaan.  On Thursday, the student will need to write Psalm 106:14-16.  We will see how God provided for the people on their journey to Canaan.
Science	We are studying Chemical Building Blocks.  This week we will study the periodic table.

History	Daily geography is handed out on Monday.   During this chapter we will be doing a project that will take the place of a test.  Look for information later this week.

Science	This week in our study of electricity we will be looking at the symbols of electricity.  Each student has their own battery and lights to "light up" the room.
Literature	We are reading a story called Forging Freedom.  It is about the occupation of the Netherlands during WWII.  We are working on comprehension, summarizing and recording what we have read.
Spelling	Spelling pretest on Monday and post-test on Thursday - week 32.
Writing	We are starting to write a children's book.  They will have several weeks to do this project.  The book will be due on May 16.

Science	We are studying nutrition.  This week we will be looking at the different nutrients and making posters about each one.  The date for foods from different countries will be next week.  I will let each student know so the parents are not caught off guard.  The countries chosen were Mexico, Italy, Canada and the Netherlands.
Spelling	Spelling pretest on Monday and the post-test is Thursday - week 32.
