Dear Parents,
PRESCHOOL AND KINDERGARTEN PARENTS: on December 3 & 4 the Preschool and Kindergarten students will be switching days. The Preschool will have class on Thursday, December 3, and the Kindergarten students will attend on Friday, December 4, which is Grandparent’s Day.
USBORNE BOOKS representative, Beth Wolfswinkel, will be featuring a Book Fair on December 4, Grandparent’s Day. Retail sales of $200-500 allows SCS to receive 25% in free books, and in sales over $500 the school receives 50% in free books! With over 1,400 titles, Usborne Books has something for every age and interest. Visit Usborne’s website at www.ubah.com for a complete catalog of the books that are available. These make great Christmas and birthday gifts!
A BIG THANK YOU goes out to the families that donated boxes for Operation Christmas Child. Our school turned in 37 BOXES for needy children! Way to go!
ORDER FORMS for Sanborn Christian Wildcat apparel are going home with your students today. The orders are due back in the office on DECEMBER 11, to ensure delivery for Christmas giving!
HOPE HAVEN will be leading an assembly with SCS on Tuesday, November 24 at 9:00am. SCS has agreed to partner with Hope Haven and collect coins that will help Hope Haven to provide wheelchairs for those who are in need of them. Each classroom will have a coin collection box in their room from November 24 until shortly before Christmas. Please consider this opportunity to help others who are in need. Thank you.
Kristie Verhoef is in need of someone to help in the kitchen on Tuesday, November 24, which will be our Thanksgiving meal. Also, she needs an extra person on Friday, December 4, for our annual Grandparent’s Day. If you are available, please call the office or let Kristie know. Thank You!
READ AROUND THE WORLD slips have been sent home again today. Your children will be coming home with an aqua slip this time! Please encourage reading with your children, or encourage their own individual reading. In week 4 SCS students read a total of 7,280 minutes! That totals over 30,000 minutes of reading in four weeks! All that reading has moved us from Sanborn to the Bermuda Islands, where we are resting for a while until our next move. Excellent work and great participation! Please return the new slips in 2 weeks – December 3 (as we’ll be gone during Thanksgiving Break)! Happy reading!
Basketball Practice will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays with the boys and on Wednesdays and Fridays with the girls.
