April is Child Abuse Prevention Month
It is most appropriate that Child Abuse Prevention Month is held during the Easter season. There is no better time than Easter to celebrate the protection of our most valuable gift from God - our children.
We cannot deny the reality that there are those who have caused harm to children and your in our community. But as believers in Christ, our faith enables us to look toward the future with hope; and it is our hope in the present that allows us to build toward the future. Pope Benedict XVI says, "only when the future is certain as a positive reality does it become possible to live the present as well." We must have hope and faith in the future, the future as a community of believers and the future of our children and youth.
During the month of April, we will take this opportunity to concentrate on the education and promotion of safe environment awareness. We hope you will find these articles entitled, Keeping Our Promise to Protect enlightening and beneficial.
