As part of their Spanish class, 8^th graders got a “taste” of the Mexican traditions of “The Day of the Dead.” The students are holding a “molinillo” which is used to mix and froth Mexican hot chocolate, a “pan de los muertos” (bread of the dead), and “calaveras” (decorated skulls).  In addition to sampling the hot chocolate and “pan de muertos,” each student also made a simple, rising-skeleton toy that would be popular among children as part of this tradition.
