St. Mary Alum, honored for Living Jesus at UW-Whitewater
St. Mary alum, Kaitlin Horne, (class of 2006) was recently honored with the “Outstanding Servant Leadership” award at UW-Whitewater. Kaitlin is currently a sophomore, majoring in education, which is a major that she decided upon while still a student at St. Mary. Kaitlin says she picked education due to a number of teachers she had at St. Mary’s that she loved and who inspired her so much that she knew then, teaching was the career for her!
Kaitlin was chosen for the “Outstanding Servant Leadership” award because of all the philanthropic work she has done for the American Cancer Society which includes over 100 hours of volunteer work. She is the philanthropic co-chair for her sorority Alpha
Sigma and the American Cancer Society with an emphasis on breast cancer. She has organized several fund raising events throughout the year for the sorority, as well as volunteer work at the local high school, grade schools and the Whitewater community. Her work contributed to her sorority receiving the “Outstanding Chapter Excellence Award.”
Congratulations Kaitlin! The St. Mary school and parish community are so proud of your continued efforts to Live Jesus and make a positive difference in our world!
