SACRAMENTAL PROGRAMS

Sacramental preparation for our students is a responsibility shared by parents/guardians, parish, school and the candidates themselves.  The sacramental programs at St. Mary are parish based and the Director of Child Ministry coordinates the program for Eucharist and Reconciliation.  In the fall of 2006, the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered to students in second and third grades.  The Sacramental preparation for First Eucharist will be presented in second grade during the spring semester.

Students will be prepared for the sacraments through instruction during the school day.  We augment this curriculum with special parish gatherings and activities, along with parental guidance at home.  Through this multi-dimensional approach the students will come to appreciate the presence of God in the parish community and to grow in their understanding of the sacrament they are celebrating.
