Welcome!  My name is Denise Berg and I am the 1st grade teacher!  I am very happy to be back at St. Rita once again.  I moved to Rockford when I was 8 years old and attended St. Rita from 2nd grade to 8th grade.  I graduated from Boylan Catholic High School and spent 2 years at Rock Valley College before transferring to Northern Illinois University.  I received a degree from the College of Education at Northern Illinois University with a minor in Psychology.  In 2001, I became the 2nd grade teacher here at St. Rita.  I taught 2nd grade for 2 years before moving to Dixon, Il for my husband's job and to become a stay at home mom for our daughter Isabella.  While in Dixon, I taught Religious Education at St. Patrick Catholic Church.  My husband Ryan and I moved back to Rockford in 2006.  My daughter Isabella is in 2nd grade here at St. Rita and my son Henry is in the PK4 program.  It is such a privilege to be back teaching 1st grade at St. Rita!
