SUNDAY BIBLE STUDY

After the 8:30 am Sunday Mass, Phil Ferris leads a year long Bible Study in the Parish Hall.  Please feel free to join your fellow parishioners as they grow in a deeper relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.

A Biblical Walk Through the Mass by Dr. Edward Sri

Fr. Ariel will facilitate this new 4 part DVD series based on the revised translation of the Mass that goes into effect Advent 2011. We will explore the biblical roots of the words and gestures we experience in the Liturgy and explain their profound significance. It would be beneficial for you to have the student workbook (7.95), A Guide to the New Translation of the Mass ($1.95) and a textbook "A Biblical Walk Through The Mass" by Edward Sri ($12.99) are also available if you are interested. Please call the office to register 815-398-0853.

Step Three in The Great Adventure Bible Study Program, Acts: The Spread of the Kingdom, builds on The Bible Timeline and Matthew by showing how Christ’s Kingdom on earth is empowered to carry out his work in the world. The book of Acts shows the Church, enlivened by the Holy Spirit, teaching, preaching, healing, and restoring outcasts in the same way that Jesus did on earth.

The Acts of the Apostles provides an historic framework for understanding the rest of the New Testament. Paul’s letters in particular come alive in a new way when they are read within the context of the Acts narrative.
