Mrs. Sutherland

Hello!  I am Bianca Sutherland, the fifth grade teacher at Saint Rita. I am currently in my 8th year of teaching. I have a degree in elementary education with a reading minor from Purdue University.  I am also a graduate of Holy Family and Boylan High School.  I realize that you are sending your child to a wonderful school because I, too, grew up attending the Rockford Catholic Schools.

The fifth grade is an exciting year filled with all kinds of new experiences, challenges, and engaging activities.  I love this transitional year because students still want to learn new concepts and are growing into young men and women before your eyes.  They have such fabulous ideas to present and love to achieve their goals.

In my time off from school, I stay busy with many activities.  My main commitment, outside of Saint Rita, is coaching basketball.  I am currently the head varsity basketball coach for the ladies at Guilford High School.  When I am not at school or in the gym, I love to travel, scrapbook, paint/draw, or run.  I am, also, very close to my family and friends and enjoy spending time with them either relaxing at home or vacationing.  My goals for the future are to have a good school year, coach college basketball, and illustrate a children’s book.
