ST RITA RELIGIOUS EDUCATION GUIDELINES
General information and guidelines for your child’s religious education classes..
ARRIVAL Students are to check in at the school foyer with the aides. Sunday morning students should be
escorted to their rooms by their parents.
CLASS TIMES Classes will be held as follows:
PK4 / K Sunday morning 9:50 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
GRADES 1-8 Wednesday evening 6:30 p.m. - 7:45 p.m.
ATTENDANCE It is important that students attend regularly. If a student is absent, please call the
R.E. office at 398-6483 before class begins that day. If a student should miss three
or more classes, please contact the teacher or R.E. office to make up missing work.
DEPARTURE All students will be dismissed at the appointed times. Students will be escorted
to the foyer where parents or guardians should pick them up.
ATHLETICS All religious education students are eligible for St. Rita athletic teams. Students must attend religious
education classes regularly.
INCLEMENT If public schools are cancelled due to inclement weather, we will not have classes in the evening
WEATHER If classes need to be cancelled because of late developing weather, information will be aired on
local radio stations (WROK,WZOK). Efforts will be made to contact parents by phone, or by calling
the Faith House for a pre-recorded message.
RESPECT We expect all students to respect themselves, the DRE, the catechists, the aides, their peers,
the building and the property of others. Behavior showing lack of respect will be handled by the
catechist or DRE. If inappropriate behavior continues or is severe, the parents will be called.
Disrespectful behavior may lead to suspension from class.
SACRAMENTAL Reconciliation and First Eucharist sacraments are a two year program
PREPARATION with Reconciliation and First Eucharist celebrated in second grade. Likewise, Confirmation,
also, is a two year program with Confirmation celebrated in eighth grade.
TUITION Tuition for one child is $100.00 and $150.00 for two or more per family. There are
additional fees due on Sacramental years for extra books, supplies and retreats. If
you should have any questions or concerns about the tuition, please contact the
parish office at 398-0853. The RE office does not handle the billing.
