One of our highest priorties at First Presbyterian is to offer a warm welcome to every guest, and to do our best to help you feel at home and among friends. I invite you to look around the site to get an idea of what our church is like. But, all we can offer you here are words and pictures. What makes our church special is our people!
First Presbyterian is a community of Jesus' followers, called together to worship God and to serve God's world. Our worship service is a joyful celebration of God's love and compassion for the whole world. Our ministry with children and youth nurtures them in the wisdom of God's word and in the reality of God's love. Our ministry with adults -- Bible studies, choirs, and more -- is a welcoming, safe place where people can learn, serve, and be God's people together, among a smaller group of friends.
The world we live in is usually hectic and sometimes hostile. We long for better lives and for a better world. We hurt in a hundred different ways -- mourning for loved ones we've lost, staggering back to our feet after a failed relationship, struggling to know right from wrong in a complicated world. Where can we take our deepest hopes and hurts? To the mall, or a coffee shop, or even here on the Web? I don't think so!
That's why I invite you to take the next step -- worship with us this Sunday. Or, if that's too big a jump just now, then feel free to give me a call or send me an email. I'll be glad to talk with you any time you'd like, and answer as many of your questions as I can.
