What We Do
At Windy Cove we maintain an active program designed to nurture our members and reach out to our community and our world. Our solid educational ministry includes Sunday School, WOW (Women on Wednesday) Bible Study, our Youth Club program held ten weeks each year for students in grades 5 through 7, Kid's Club for students in grade 4, Bible School each summer for preschool through grade 6, Teen Grad School for those in high school, and our Presbyterian Women's meetings once each month. Of course, these gatherings also provide time for fellowship with other folks. To increase our fellowship and fun together we meet for family fun nights, recreation and game nights, fellowship suppers, as well as other special occasions. Homecoming on the second Sunday in September is always a highlight of the year.
We minister to our community through our Food Pantry and local mission projects. Christ-centered counseling, healing prayer, and spiritual direction are available. In addition, many of our members are involved in community life and affairs. In all these activities we strive to show the kindness of the Lord Jesus to those in need. Our witness stretches beyond this area with our support of denominational programs in Ethiopia, as well as our own annual mission trip to Haiti begun in 1984.
Tammy Lindsay, our choir director and pianist, leads our music ministry. The adult choir sings nearly every Sunday. High school students who like to sing are included in the adult choir.
