WOMEN'S EVENING BIBLE STUDY

Ladies!  Are you looking for an evening Bible study group that will get you into the Word of God?  This fall we will be starting a Tuesday evening Bible study here at Central Avenue Church for all women interested in an in-depth, weekly Bible study.  We will be using Bible study lessons developed by Discipler's Bible Studies, Inc.

What We Hope to Do at Central Avenue:

For 2009/2010 we will be studying Paul's letter to the RomansWe meet every Tuesday evening from 7:30-9:00 p.m. from September 22 to November 24 and January 5-March 23.  Contact Joyce Roossien or Connie Knap for more information.

The lessons are set up that we will go through each book verse by verse.  The lessons have daily questions to be answered.  This set-up encourages daily Bible study, and keeps the lessons from becoming overwhelming.  Each lesson also contains a note section with an outline of the lesson, valuable references to many Biblical authors and personal applications to help guide you in your Christian walk.  For those of you have been involved with Bible Study Fellowship, you will find similarities in the lesson format.

Each week as we get together, we will go through that week's lesson question by question as a group.  Everyone will have the opportunity to share what they have learned as they studied the given passage on their own.  We will end the evening with a short wrap-up of the lesson.

Some Background on Discipler's Bible Studies:

Pearl Hamilton started Discipler's Bible Studies, Inc. in the late 1980's while she was Director of Women's Ministries at Rolling Hills Covenant Church in California.  Pearl started writing Bible study lessons to be used in the women's ministry at this church.  Prior to taking this position at Rolling Hills Church, she served as Deputy Director of Bible Study Fellowship.  Following her death 1993 after a battle with leukemia, Discipler's was incorporated in the state of California as a religious, non-proft organization.  It has a board of directors and a volunteer staff who have continued to write new studies.   Seminary professors review all lessons before becoming an official part of the Discipler's curriculum.
