BUILDING AND GROUNDS COMMITTEE

Building and Grounds Committee  responsibility consists of the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds and equipment: including supplies, insurance and custodial supervision.

 

  • Maintain the church buildings.
  • Assure that the facilities are kept clean, sanitary, safe, and in good repair and appearance.
  • Ensure that the heating, plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems of church properties are properly maintained and operating.
  • Maintain the landscaping of church property.
  • Provide for emergency contracting.
  • Manage the purchase of maintenance supplies, striving for economy and quality.
  • Assume responsibility for custodial supervision.
  • Ensure that the sanctuary and facilities are properly prepared for all worship services.
  • Keep current asset inventory and develop a replacement schedule.
  • Solicit insurance proposals and coordinate claims.
  • Provide for building security.
  • Report details about bills to the finance committee as requested.
  • Prepare a budget based on known current needs and perceived future needs and provide it to the Finance Committee as requested.
  • Report Activities to Church Council.
