Building and Grounds Committee responsibility consists of the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds and equipment: including supplies, insurance and custodial supervision.
- Maintain the church buildings.
- Assure that the facilities are kept clean, sanitary, safe, and in good repair and appearance.
- Ensure that the heating, plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems of church properties are properly maintained and operating.
- Maintain the landscaping of church property.
- Provide for emergency contracting.
- Manage the purchase of maintenance supplies, striving for economy and quality.
- Assume responsibility for custodial supervision.
- Ensure that the sanctuary and facilities are properly prepared for all worship services.
- Keep current asset inventory and develop a replacement schedule.
- Solicit insurance proposals and coordinate claims.
- Provide for building security.
- Report details about bills to the finance committee as requested.
- Prepare a budget based on known current needs and perceived future needs and provide it to the Finance Committee as requested.
- Report Activities to Church Council.
