E.C.H.O.
E.C.H.O. - Everyone Caring Helping Others - is an ecumenical charity which provides food, clothing, shelter, and other services to the needy in our community. First Presbyterian Church provides budgeted mission pledge and special collections throughout the year as the need arises.

Each Sunday, we collect non-perishable food items for E.C.H.O. periodically we participate in other collections and focus one month on P for pasta products.

GIFTS - Men's Shelter
We host the temporary shelter for two weeks in partnership with two other churches.
Habitat for Humanity
We support through mission dollars the local Rock County Habitat for Humanity.  Regular work dates are encouraged.
Roosevelt Breakfast Club
We support the Roosevelt Breakfast Club.  Every six weeks during the school year we supply breakfast for the students of Roosevelt Elementary School.  Each morning before school we serve cereal, toast, cheese, raisins, milk, and juice for the students.  We also spend time playing games and reading to them.
Y.W.C.A. Transitional Living Program

Every summer, First Prebyterian Church collects contributions for the Y.W.C.A. Transitional Living Program.  Our congregration and the Women of Faith provide for the women and their families.

We purchase gift certificates at an area store so that the children may buy school supplies.  Collections are taken until August 10th so that they can shop before school begins.

In addition, each new family moving into the Transitional Living apartments recieves a basket of cleaning supplies,  and other household items from our Paper Pantry which can not be purchased with food stamps.

Alice Winters
We support Alice Winters, a Presbyterian Church USA missionary currently serving in Columbia, South America.  She teaches at Reformed University in Barranquilla, training local Christians to lead.
Youth Trip - HOPE for the Heartland
Some of our youth worked in Iowa during the summer of 2005, repairing and refurbishing homes for people in rural areas.  The poverty seen in our nation's heartland touched the lives of these young people.
"P" is for PASTA!

June is usually linked with ?Dairy Month.?  This year, your Mission Committee, recognizing the great need at E.C.H.O., is designating June as ?PASTA MONTH.?

How can YOU help?  Each Sunday (or during the week if you wish), we are asking you to bring pasta products to church.  Think of all the various choices you have!  Pasta in a box, pasta in a can, pasta in a bag?..and if you are inspired to take an extra step?..pasta sauces would be most welcome!

Another option?..good old cash!

This project cannot succeed without your generous support.  So, please put pasta products on your grocery list and help us build a pile, a plethora, a profusion of PASTA!
