O God, our Father, help us this day to work faithfully and to work well. Grant that we may put off until tomorrow no task which should be done today. Grant that we may not do with a grudge that which should be done with a smile. Grant that we may never be content to render to anyone else that which is as less than our best. Help us all through this day to be kind to others as we would wish them to be with us. Help us always to be honest, never to be guilty of any mean action or any sharp practice, and never to seek an unfair advantage over others. Help us all through this day to work in such a way that when the evening comes we shall hear You say: Well done! Hear this our prayer for Your love's sake. Amen.

O God, our Father, deliver us this day from all that would keep us from serving You and from serving our fellowmen as we ought. Deliver us from all coldness of heart; and grant that neither our hand nor our heart may ever remain shut to the appeal of someone s need. Deliver us from all weakness of will; from the indecision which cannot make up its mind; from the irresolution which cannot abide by a decision once it is made; from the inability to say NO to the tempting voices which come to us from inside and from outside. Deliver us from all failure in endeavor; from being too easily discouraged; from giving up and giving in too soon; from allowing any task to defeat us, because it is difficult. Grant to us this day the love which is generous in help; the determination which is steadfast in decision; the perseverance which is enduring to the end; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

O God, our Father, who desires us to love and to serve one another, and who has created us for fellowship with Thee and with our fellow-men, grant unto us all throughout this day the gifts and the graces which will make us easy to live with. Grant us courtesy, that we may live every moment as if we were living at the court of the King. Grant us tolerance, that we may not be so quick to condemn what we do not like and what we do not understand. Grant us considerateness, that we may think of the feelings of others even more than of our own. Grant us kindliness, that we may miss no opportunity to help, to cheer, to comfort and to encourage a brother man. Grant us honesty, that our work may be our best, whether there is anyone to see it or not. Grant to us so to live this day that the world may be a happier place because we passed through it; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

O God, our Father, who has given unto us the rest of the night, and who now sends us forth to the work of the day, guide us and direct us all through today. Help us to work correctly, so that every task may be so well done that we can take it and show it unto You. Help us to speak aright, and preserve us alike from too hasty speech and from cowardly silence. Help us to think aright, and so guard our minds and hearts that no evil and no bitter thought may gain an entry in to them. Help us to live as befits those who have begun this day with You, and who go out to live every moment of it in Your presence. Grant that today our lives may shine like lights of love and goodness in the world, that we may bring credit to the name we bear, and honour to the Master, whose we are and whom we seek to serve. This we ask for Your love's sake. Amen.

O God, our Father, grant that whatever happens to us today we may take it to You. If we shall have decisions to make, help us to ask Your guidance, and grant us humility and obedience to take it when You give it to us. If we shall have problems to solve, help us to ask Your light upon them, so that we may see a clear way through them. If we shall have hard and difficult things to do, help us to ask for Your strength, so that we may be enabled to do the things which we could not do ourselves. If we shall have temptations to face, help us to seek Your grace, remembering that Jesus, because He was tempted, is able to help others who are tempted. Help us all through today to decide everything by Your will, and to test everything by Your presence, so that we may come to the day s ending without mistakes and without regrets: through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

O God, our Father, help us this day to treat all men correctly. Help us to be a good example to those who are younger than we are; to be respectful to those who are older than we are; and to be at all times courteous to our equals. Help us to be obedient to those who are set in authority over us; and to be just and fair and kind to any over whom we have control. Help us to be sympathetic to those in distress, to be helpful to those in trouble, and to be kind to those in need. So make us all this day to go about doing good as our Master did. This we ask for Your love's sake. Amen.
