Thanksgiving lunch on Sunday, Nov. 22
Come prepared to greet one another and share an early Thanksgiving dinner with your Bethany family Sunday, Nov. 22, at approx. 11:30 a.m. (at the close of the morning worship service). Turkey, mashed potatoes and all of the fixins' will be provided by volunteers of the church Fellowship Commission, with "extras" (such as veggies and desserts) brought by church members. EVENT: Have You Signed Up Yet for the Church Retreat Oct. 24-25?
Some spaces are left for the annual Bethany Friends and Family Retreat at beautiful Zephyr Point on the edge of Lake Tahoe -- noon on Saturday, October 24 through noon on Sunday, October 25. In addition to engaging workshops, there are a Saturday night vesper service and Sunday morning worship service -- both on the scenic lakeshore -- that help make this a truly inspiring get-away. A modest registration fee covers meals, hotel-style accommodations, workshop materials and more. Ride-sharing is available. Pick up a brochure in the church hallway or ask a committee member!

Come and enjoy a lunch outdoors with friends! Bethany's Fellowship Commisson will supply the BBQ hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks.
Guests--you needn't bring anything except your appetite. Members of the congregation--please bring a dish to share (to feed 10-20 people).

EVENT: Children's Easter Egg Hunt Coming Sunday, April 12
Bethany's annual Children's Easter Egg Hunt will place Easter Sunday (April 12) on the front lawn of the church.Come at 10 a.m. for free refreshments, and watch the egg hunt fun at 10:15 a.m. All children are welcome to join in the fun. No cost to participate! Everyone is welcome to stay for the church service at 10:30 a.m., which will feature beautiful music and an uplifting message. Questions? Lenten Prayer Labyrinth: An Invitation to Church Youth Groups
Church youth groups are invited to The Great Escape ... an interactive prayer labyrinth offered during Lent.It's designed to take you away from the many distractions affecting your everyday life. It's indoors, so you don't have to worry about the weather! Refreshments will be served. Youth leaders, please contact Grace Ogata by March 8 in order to make your reservation. Tell her how many people, and what day you would like to attend. The Great Escape is open to youth groups 7-9 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, March 22-25. Bethany members are invited any of these evenings as well as Sunday, March 22, directly after church. Mark your calendar for Ash Wednesday Service 7 p.m. on February 25 ... interactive indoor Lenten labyrinth 7-9 p.m. March 22-25 ... Candles, carols and community ... that's what you'll find on Christmas Eve at Bethany. Come as you are ... and bring a coat, because we'll be carrying our candles outside at the end of the service, bringing light into the night just as the baby Jesus brought light into the world. EVENT: Hot chocolate ministry on Christmas Eve morning--Download the flyer DOC 34 KB
Instead of spending Christmas Eve day shopping or wrapping gifts, join friends and neighbors in ministering to those truly in need. From 7 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., we'll be serving hot chocolate and tea to those waiting in line to receive emergency supplies of groceries from the local food bank. Contact the church office (428-5281) if you have questions or want to volunteer ... or simply show up and lend a hand! Wear your warmest clothes and your warmest smile. |
