Central Avenue's facilities are handicapped accessible and our sanctuary is equipped with the hearing loop system.
The purpose of our worship services is to first of all glorify God. The edification of the saints is a natural by-product. Our worship services regularly include the elements of Reformed worship; such as praise, confession/pardon, profession, prayer, preaching of the Word, celebration of the sacraments and giving our gifts. Worship is viewed as a dialogue between the Creator and His people based on the blood of Jesus Christ. We at Central Avenue believe worshippers are all participants, not merely spectators.
The sacrament of the Lord's Supper is celebrated four or five times a year as follows:
June 10, 2007 September 9 November 18 February 10, 2008 March 21 - Good Friday June 8
The sacrament of baptism is scheduled usually within the first few months of a covenant child's birth. One of the pastors will schedule it with the parents.

Preaching
In our preaching we seek to be faithful to the biblical text while bringing its timeless message to God's people today, helping them understand and obey God's holy Word. Often, sermons are preached in a series. The pastors also seek to honor the various special days on the church calendar. The pastors also regularly use the Heidelberg Catechism and other Reformed confessions to guide our study of God's Word. In all the preaching, Christ is the center.
Music Music is an important part of worship. Central Avenue seeks to use both old and new psalms, hymns and songs that appropriately reflect Scripture and its theme of redemption. Great care is taken to focus all the elements of the service around the theme of a particular text. Primarily, our 33-rank Schantz pipe organ is used to accompany the congregation singing, but piano and other instruments are also utilized. Special music is regularly included to enhance the worship. For more information, contact our Music Director.
