After reading Rick Warren's The Purpose Driven Church, and attending Saddleback's Purpose-Driven® Conference in 1997, Michael led the efforts to retool the Trinity congregation. In recent years he has shared his insights through seminars at Saddleback Church, Columbia Theological Seminary, and numerous presbytery events throughout Florida and other states. In the spring of 2004, Saddleback Church presented Michael and seven other members of the Trinity team, a Church Health Award for their efforts in adapting Purpose-Driven® principles for PCUSA congregations. Michael, Hoyt and the Trinity team will provide leadership for the Purposeful Missional Presbyterians Conference plenary session, lunch time dialogue groups other practical workshops.
