What is Podcasting?

What is Podcasting?

  • What is Podcasting?
    • Podcasting is a way to automatically download internet audio that is regularly updated. The idea is that you can listen to the latest episode of certain internet audio on your computer, iPod or portable mp3 player, and your computer will automatically download the latest episode.
  • What do I need to do it?
    • You need software that will subscribe for you. You can find some at ipodder.org or, perhaps simpler (especially for those of you who have an iPod) iTunes now has a Podcasting subscription feature.
  • How do I do it?
    • This depends on the software and equipment you are using. If you use iTunes, go to the podcasting section of the iTunes music store and find us under the Religion & Spirituality header. If using another podcasting software, you'll have to enter the appropriate feed site into the "add new feed" feature of your podcasting software. The address of our morning sermon feed is http://www.urc-msu.org/mp3/am_sermon.xml and the address for our evening sermon feed is http://www.urc-msu.org/mp3/pm_sermon.xml . Entering one of these into your "add new feed" feature will subsribe you to download the latest sermon when it is posted.
