What is Podcasting?

• What is Podcasting?
  • Podcasting is a way to automatically download internet audio that is regularly updated. The idea is that you can listen to the latest episode of certain internet audio on your computer, iPod or portable mp3 player, and your computer will automatically download the latest episode.
• What do I need to do it?
  • You need software that will subscribe for you. You can find some at ipodder.org or, perhaps simpler (especially for those of you who have an iPod) iTunes has a Podcasting subscription feature.
• How do I do it?
  • This depends on the software and equipment you are using. Generally speaking, you'll have to enter the appropriate feed address into the "add new feed" feature of your podcasting software. The address of our sermon feed is http://www.urc-msu.org/mp3/sermons.xml. Entering this address into the "add new feed" feature of your software will subscribe you to download the latest sermon when it is posted.
