DROP OFF AND PICK UP PROCEDURES

DROPPING OFF
Students should arrive at school no earlier than 7:45 A.M. and no later than 7:55 A.M. Students are not to enter the building; they are to go directly to the basketball court area.

PICKING UP
The only people authorized to pick up students are the custodial parents or guardians. If someone other than a parent or guardian will be picking up your student on a regular basis there must be a completed Authorization for Student Pick-Up form on file in the office, as well as a copy of that individual’s Driver License. For unplanned instances that may occur during the year, a note from home should be sent to the school office stating who will be picking up the student. This note must be dated and signed by the parent; it should include the specific dates and times the designated adult is authorized to pick up the student. A photocopy of the designated person’s Driver License will be made in the school office and an Authorization for Student Pick-Up form needs to be filed in the office as soon as possible. Please do not honk your horn to get your child’s attention when picking them up.

STUDENT DRIVERS
Students possessing a valid driver license may drive themselves to school with parent permission only. A Student Driver Permission Form must be completed and on file in the school office. The privilege of driving oneself to school can be revoked at anytime for unsafe conduct.

DRIVING OTHERS
If a student has permission to transport others, the Student Driver Permission Form must include permission from the driver’s parent and permission from the parent of those being transported. Having this permission does not mean students may drive off together anytime they wish. Every time one student has permission to ride with another we will need a note from the parents of both individuals granting permission for that specific day and event. PARKING Student drivers must park on the side of the parking lot by the Sierra Vista Baptist Church sign.

AUTHORIZATION FOR STUDENT PICK-UP

If anyone other than a student's parent will be transporting a student to or from school a Student Pick-Up Authorization Form  (Below)  must be completed and on file in the school office. This requirement is for both regular and occasional pick-up arrangements. The first time any designated adult is to pick up the student they will need to come to the school
office with a picture ID that we will copy and file with the authorization form.

REGULAR PICKUP ARRANGEMENTS
For pick-up arrangements that are on a regular basis (every day, every Wednesday, etc.), once the
Student Pick-Up Authorization form and ID are on file in the office, the designated adult will need to
show the teacher ID until the teacher becomes familiar with that individual.

OCCASIONAL PICKUP ARRANGEMENTS
For the occasional instances that may occur during the school year, a note from home should be sent to
the school office stating who will be picking-up the student. The note should be dated and signed by
the parent, and it should also include the specific dates and times the adult is authorized to pick-up the
student. This individual should also be listed on the Student Pick-Up Authorization form and a copy
of a photo ID will be required the first time they pick-up the student.

UNFORSEEN EMERGENCIES
Unforeseen complications in work schedules, transportation breakdowns, etc. may necessitate the need
for an alternate person to pick up your child from school without written permission. For your child's
safety please designate an individual ahead of time using the Student Pick-Up Authorization form.
In this case a child will not be allowed to leave the school campus without notification from a parent
via a phone call. The designated individual will need to report to the office to sign the student out
and show proper ID.
