ILLNESS AND MEDICATION
ILLNESS
Children will be sent home if their temperature is above 100 degrees, they are vomiting or experiencing severe diarrhea. If a student becomes ill while at school, the school secretary will call the child’s parent to come and pick him up. In the event the parent/guardian or the emergency number listed on the student emergency medical form cannot be reached, the student will remain in the office until the end of the day. A child not well enough to participate in the normal activities of the school day should remain at home. Students too ill to be at school will be considered too ill to participate in extra-curricular activities, including sports. Telephone the school immediately if your child is diagnosed with a contagious disease such as strep throat, pink eye, or parasites.
MEDICATION
Prescription and over-the-counter medication used by students must be kept in the school office. A Medication Permission Sheet must be filled out and delivered with any medication to be administered by the school office. All medication is required to be in the original packaging with proper identification, dosage, and expiration dates relevant to the student.
